Abusive women...

I don't yet have much to say today.  It's still early in the morning and nothing has gotten me irate yet.  However, I did just stumble across this very poignant video by Boogie2988.  He talks about how he was abused by his mother and girlfriends before he married his wife.

My husband, Bill, was a victim of abuse at the hands of his ex wife.  He can relate to a lot of what Boogie says about men being expected to be strong and able to resist abuse.  It's true that women are statistically more likely to be abused than men are, but abuse at the hands of females does happen a lot more than people want to admit.

I applaud Boogie for being so honest and open about his experiences...

Last week, Bill was talking to co-workers and one of the men said it was impossible to be raped because they wouldn't respond sexually to an attack.  Bill had to remind them that men can be sodomized.  It happens.  He told me that when he reminded his co-worker of the ways a man can be attacked, it was like a light bulb came on.  The guy hadn't even thought about it.  It simply had not occurred to him.

There is a huge double standard when it comes to how people perceive abuse.
