When artists go kinky...

The last time Bill and I lived here in Germany, I used to hang out on a messageboard called Toytown Germany.  It was for English speaking people in Germany.  I found the site very helpful, since most of the people on it were regular residents rather than military affiliated.  They had a refreshing viewpoint and some of the discussions were quite illuminating.

In those days, not everyone was on Facebook.  We didn't have groups where people could share their experiences.  Every once in awhile, I go back to Toytown Germany just to see if there's anything interesting being discussed.

Last night, I remembered an artist I discovered the last time we were living here.  He was a poster on Toytown Germany, although he is originally from Scotland.  He now lives in Munich.  I was very impressed by his art.  Last time we were here, I was hoping Bill and I could visit his gallery and pick up a couple of pieces.  Unfortunately, we ran out of time before we could get there.

This artist has a Facebook page now, and I have been following it for some time.  He used to post beautiful landscapes and seascapes done in vibrant colors.  There was nothing at all controversial about his work.  It was just very beautiful, at least in my opinion.  Recently, I've noticed a change in his style as drawings of bound and blindfolded women have started showing up in my Facebook feed.

Last night, he posted a couple of sketches that really caught my attention.  I was curious, so I went to his page and noticed that he's started using a different name and has blue hair.  He's obviously into kink... BDSM in particular.

I'm not really offended by his fetish proclivities.  I'm a trifle kinky myself, although I'd rather read kink than look at pictures of it.  I do wonder if he's gotten in trouble with the Facebook powers that be, though.  They seem to be somewhat strict about nude pictures.  I know someone who changed her profile picture to a set of boobs in honor of breast cancer awareness and she got reported.  The picture wasn't even showing the whole boob.

Still... given a choice, I'd rather see the old style stuff from this artist.  I'd still like to go see him in his studio in Munich, though, if only because Munich is a great town.

  1. My cousin Josh, who was recently adopted by my parents after his own parents disowned him, it really into nude photos on the Internet. It's the first time he's had the luxury of indulging without the fear of someone finding his history. My parents just tell him to make sure it doesn't interfere with his class attendance or studying. Mormonism really messes people up. I'm hoping he gets it largely out of his system eventually so that it doesn't dominate his life in real adulthood. There's nothing wrong with looking at it once in awhile as long as it doesn't overtake your life.

    1. I agree. People make too much of so-called porn addictions.

As for this artist, I guess he just decided to indulge his true passions. :D
