Speaking of 80s era educational TV...

If you were around in the 70s and 80s, you might remember Powerhouse, a sixteen part series that was set in Washington, DC and originally aired in 1982-83.

This particular two part episode is called "You Make Me Sick".  It's pretty intense for a PBS show.  It's a good study on why hygiene matters.  The music is spectacularly funky.

I used to see this show on the Richmond, VA PBS affiliate that I could only get if I tuned our TV between channels 6 and 7.  You never get to see this kind of stuff anymore...

You can find more episodes on YouTube.  There are some pretty funny PSAs at the end of most episodes that show how anti-Communist the USA was in 1982.

The 80s rocked.
